The QuickTime audio settings need to be changed. To do this, open the Windows Control Panel and double-click the QuickTime icon.* Click the Audio tab and select "Safe mode (waveOut only)." Click Apply and OK to lock in the change.

*If you can't see a Quicktime icon, change the View By option to "Small Icons" or "Large Icons."

Newer eMedia applications do not require QuickTime, but some Windows machines do not handle the multimedia playback in our applications very well without it. If you are hearing distortion in the audio, download the latest version of QuickTime from the following link: https://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/

Then, follow these steps:
1. Run the downloaded installation file.
2. Select “Custom Installation”
3. Select “QuickTime Player” > “Entire feature will be unavailable.” (This will place a red X next to the QuickTime Player indicating that it will not be installed.)
4. Click Next to continue installing only the QuickTime Essentials.
5. Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.
6. Run your eMedia Music application.
